In 3(c) I'm confused due to lack of statistical knowledge.

Depending on the number of people who are interested I can either do brief session on statistics in the next lecture (Friday 4th Nov) or a small session outside the lecture. Personally (and this is not necessarily department policy) think that some stats knowledge is needed not just for DMML but also any project work you might do.
